Who we are?

Merton Books
It is with great sadness that I have to report the death on January 20th of Pat Schooling, the Director and moving spirit behind Merton Books and Action Against Allergy. She was 92.
As we move to manage the legacy of amazing projects Pat was running, please do not purchase items through this website. If you have any questions, then please use the contact links to get in touch. Many thanks.
Merton Books was founded over 30 years ago by Amelia Nathan Hill, founder of the national charity Action Against Allergy (AAA). Its purpose was to provide recommended titles to allergy sufferers to help them with their diets and allergy management.
Merton Books has continued to work alongside AAA through the years, becoming a specialised mail order distributor of books from many different publishers. It published its own first allergy title in 1997, later developing into biographical areas of reader interest, including Jennifer Worth’s Call the Midwife, now globally renowned. Within the last decade Merton Books has further expanded its business by becoming literary agent for several important authors.
